Meet the cast of The Ripple Effect. I’ve been working with this group since mid-September. There are always challenges when working with a large group of volunteers. People bring to the table different abilities, but the key to success is capitalizing on each one’s strengths. I’m enjoying the process of seeing people grow and becoming something more than when we started. They are getting better and better as we get deeper into practice.
The play takes place on a bridge and it flashes back in time as we learn about our protagonist Skye Sutherland. Many elements of this production are now coming together including several videos that will be shown in the telling of this story. There is an element of music as well that heightens the dramatic aspect of the play.
The Ripple Effect will be staged at The Stone Church on the weekend of Saturday December 12 & Sunday December 13 for 3 performances. Read all about the details HERE.
In the last few blogs, I’ve spoken about “running the race” – that you need to find something that you believe in and go after it. There may be people around you who will tell you that you should be doing this, or that…but only you know what puts a fire in your heart. That is the place where you must live. If you don’t know what that fire is, it’s important to find it…because life’s too short.
The word passion is tossed around a lot. I don’t take passion lightly – it’s critical for life. However, passion for me means, blood, sweat, tears and a lot of failure. We need failure to become a better success and reach our true potential. I can confidently say as a writer that today when I write, a first draft of a script feels more like a 3rd draft. In other words, it takes practice to get better. I’ve never stopped learning. I can always, always be better. It’s never good enough, but it’s better than yesterday.
Great inspirational quotations, as usual, Romeo. I really like the “better than yesterday”. It propels us forward without getting too hung up on how we just messed up or feel let down.
The cast photo looks great! Can’t wait to see the drama, video, and music come together.
