My short play THAT’S HOW IT GOES SOMETIMES will be playing online August 5 to 13. If anyone is interested in watching (along with 3 other short plays), tickets are $10. You will get a link to watch all four plays.
Tickets can be purchased on the WARD ONE ACTS FESTIVAL website. Just click and follow the link HERE.
The Ward One Acts Festival was originally meant to be performed on stage with a live audience at the Guelph Little Theatre, but because of the ongoing Covid pandemic, the festival had no choice but to film the plays than stream online. Like so many other theatre companies have done all around the world, this has become the way to watch theatre…although it is starting to feel like things are changing as more theatres are slowly opening up.
Aside from some initial conversation via email with director Jane Brooks regarding the script of THAT’S HOW IT GOES SOMETIMES, I was not involved in putting the play together nor have I seen any rehearsals. I’m looking forward to seeing it come to life:
Here is a synopsis of the play:
A Male and Female are having dinner. It’s uncomfortably quiet. The tension between them is obvious. Once they start talking, their true feelings explode in vicious and uncompromising ways. But is it really their feelings…or someone else trying to control their every thought and action? That’s How It Goes Sometimes tackles the perplexing and often frustrating theme of creativity and who really is in charge.
Thanks for the reminder Rome – got my ticket!! Looking forward to it!
