Luke Bozios and Me
Great things, large projects, or important achievements take a long time, patience, and consistent effort to create.
This is the definition of the idiom “Rome Wasn’t Built In a Day”. In the last couple blogs, I’ve been sharing updates about my play WAVES which will be staged Next Spring 2027. Liz Best (director of WAVES) and I have been putting together a team of players to mount this production. And since today’s subject matter is about building things, it’s apropos to introduce the gentleman I’m posing with in the photo above. His name is Luke Bozios and he is the set builder for WAVES.
Sometimes people enter your life at just the right time/place. I met Luke recently and have gotten to know him this past year. He is a local Realtor in Toronto with a history in construction. Being the son of a carpenter, he has had lifelong experiences in design and construction in endless projects both past and present. Luke has shown me photos of some of the incredible things he has built. He has a great imagination, bubbling with creativity and an infectious energy that lifts people up around him.
When I began talking to him about my writing and that I was staging WAVES, he was endlessly curious about the process. We had a set designer (his name is Arthur Wrigglesworth – more about him in another blog), so I asked Luke if he was interested in building our set. He didn’t even hesitate and was on board. This past September, he joined Arthur, Liz and myself to discuss the set for WAVES. We met on the stage where the play will be mounted.
Luke is just one of many pieces that will contribute to building WAVES. This all began when I sat down one day to write the play. This led me to re-writes and many private and public readings. And now, it leads me to the stage with a live audience. Staging a play is a gradual process that takes time, a great deal of patience and effort. Rome was not built in a day. And it is important to remember that while we create, we DON’T forget to have fun! Believe me when I say that creativity is not all fun and games. But if you surround yourselves with the right people (like Luke), the journey is far more rewarding. The challenges become opportunities to excel and achieve greatness.
I look forward to introducing you to more team players in the weeks and months ahead. For now, let’s remember as you face your own challenges in life, most will not be solved with a snap of a figure, but one day at a time…

I’m looking forward to seeing Waves and appreciate hearing about how it is all coming together. It’s terrific to hear how much fun you are having. God is so good.
Luke sounds like an amazing person, Romeo! I agree with Donna that God is in this, bringing it all together. I believe you all will have “fun” as you go through the staging process for Waves.
It’s so fun to hear about the behind-the-scenes process of getting the production together. Isn’t God so good to bring all the pieces together in both physical and human resources? Thanks for sharing the process, and much success for the upcoming production of WAVES!
